Spin's unique properties lie in its essential lines, rotation geometry, and shape, which stems from its function. Its body, entirely manufactured in aluminium, confers lightness and consistency, while also serving as a heat sink. The flush-mounted ceiling base and ultra-thin tensor generate a sensation of aerial floatability, making it an attractive yet unobtrusive addition to any interior design.
The design process for Spin began in 2014, with Saldana leading the project. The design team sought to integrate aesthetic trends from interior design stakeholders, such as decorating magazines and design journals, into the luminary. The goal was to transform these trends into design values, resulting in a perfect combination of functionality, aesthetics, and performance.
Spin's realization technology involves aluminium injection moulding and the use of Poly(methyl methacrylate). With a width and depth of 75mm diameter, a height of 185mm, and a tensor ranging from 2000 to 3000mm, Spin is the perfect light fitting for bars, counters, showcases, and more. It offers the best light-quality and color-rendering, meeting the requirements of the most demanding lighting designers.
Despite the challenges of achieving a perfect blend of elegance, discreteness, and high-standard technical lighting performance, Saldana and his team successfully overcame these hurdles. Available in black and white texturized finishes, Spin is a testament to Saldana's design prowess and Arkoslight's commitment to producing high-quality lighting products.
In conclusion, Spin is more than just a suspended LED luminary; it's a revolution in lighting design. Its award-winning design embodies extraordinary excellence and significantly impacts the world with its desirable characteristics. As Saldana puts it, "Spin's lighting performance gets the best light-quality and color-rendering, aimed at fulfilling the requirements of the most demanding lighting designers."
